I picked this up from someone who was selling it online as a decoration and obviously didn't know what they had. It appears to be an all original late 1800’s Marching Parade Snare Drum w/ Calfskin Heads. The Shell measures 15” x 4” and appears to be made of a thin Nickle plated Brass. It comes with the original Stenciled Maple Hoops and all it's original brass and steel hardware. There are no identifying maker's marks inside or out, but I believe it’s in the style of Lyon and Healy. Anyone out there ever see one like this before and if so, any insight as to the maker? Thanks, Randy

3 years agoI have a Leedy that I use with modified hoops. The nickel over brass shell looks similar. The strainer is different, mine probably 1920.
