Master drum-builder Johnny Craviotta(may he RIP), used the 600+ year old exquisitely grained, naturally leached of sap and impurities logs that were brought up from the icy, oxygen deprived depths of Lake Superior and created what has been said to be drums that "are truly Unparalleled in the history of drumming".
The Bird's Eye Timeless Timber wood is not just an outer ply but the entire construction of the shell plus the reinforcement rings.
The shells are individually hand signed, numbered and dated with signatures by DW's John Good (Pres) and Don Lombardi (CEO).
Special Vintage Satin Hardware on all Lugs, Hoops, Claws, Tuning Rods etc. Features special Timeless Timber Badges as well as DW collector's series badges.
These are truly in mint condition (slight oxidation on the matt finished lugs (which can be buffed if desired). They live in my smokefree studio and have only been respectfully played. Never gigged.
Once in a lifetime shot; these Timeless Timbersare highly collectable, look and sound immaculate, are arguably the most famous kit ever produced by DW Drums and seldom come up for sell.
These drums have sold for as much as $16K+.
The absolute epitome of a Luxury Kit. Meticulously designed, crafted, finished at Drum Workshop in USA.
Please check out the Timeless Timber Story on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=36&v=BKl0DEsAdWk (Titled "DW DRUMS THE 600 YEAR OLD DRUM KIT") where they reclaimed this ancient wonder-wood from old growth forests, high density Bird's Eye Maple with over a thousand growth rings (60 RPI) in logs harvested in the 1800's that sat at the bottom of Lake Superior at such low temperatures/low oxygen that perfectly preserved the wood, as well as leeching all the sap from the cells in effect turning them into millions of tiny resonating chambers. Similar to the process of soaking the wood as made famous by Stradivarius.
Reduced to $12,800. Proceeds will benefit DrumsForCures :: DRUMSTRONG 501c3 www.drumstrong.org
I will only ship fully insured
(All other cymbals, cymbal stands, throne etc. are for photo purposes only.)
If interested, please provide a phone number and I will call promptly to go over all details.
Also, please no low ball offers. This is a serious kit for a serious collector that knows this level of quality costs more.
When you see them in person you'll appreciate that the photos don't do justice to the dimension and elegance of this rare wood. And when you hear them...
Thank you very much for looking.
