Gretsch USA Custom 14x22 80s bass drum

I am selling one of my "beater kits" either as is or completely refurbished. This is an 80s stop sign drop G badge 14x22 Jasper shell bass drum w tom mount and tom arm that I acquired in a trade. I was planning on refurbishing it with a new black wrap and new "silver sealer" paint on the interior.

There is also a Jasper shell 12" concert tom with an 80s square badge, The 12" ball and socket mount was removed , covered with black tape, and a RIMS mount tom holder with a Gretsch tom bracket is on it. I still have the ball and socket mount.

This set was featured in a Not So Modern Drummer magazine article that I wrote. I am the owner and editor of that magazine (please go to NotSoModernDrummer.com to sign up for the free emailed monthly issue.

I acquired the bass from a pro drummer friend in Nashville. The bass drum's wrap was cracked all the way around the drum. I had planned on refurbishing the drum at some point, but now I have two other beater kits so this one has to go. The crack in the wrap is so fine that it is hardly noticeable from a couple of yards out , and it will not spread since it has spread all the way around cleanly. The Pratt felt muffler and knob were missing when I got it. The spurs are the CR Series Internal Support Spurs #9011 which were available from 1980 - 2001, designed to maintain the integrity of the drum shell while supporting up to three mounted toms (or a hair band drummer in spandex standing on top of the bass drum! :-) Other then the wrap, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the drum other than wear. The drum sounds great; better than most, I think because of the internal support spurs. Very punchy and loud with lots of low end.

I will sell as is or completely refurbished with new black wrap which I have in stock (or your choice of wrap colors at cost), new interior paint, and refinished hoops. lugs and other hardware will be cleaned and polished. I do these kind of drum repairs and refurbishing professionally. If refurbished, the price, with Gretsch tom mount and arm is $800 firm plus whatever shipping is. For "as is" (no wrap, no paint), the price is negotiable, make me a reasonable offer, with or without tom arm.

For the concert tom, $200 as is with original ball and socket mount or RIMS mount. Or if you want it refurbished, I can rewrap the tom in black which I have in stock, covering the mount hole. I can also add bottom lugs, hoop, tension rods, head and cut bearing edges if you want a double headed drum. probably $400- $500 totally refurbished. I will be glad to make a package price for the bass and tom in whatever condition you want it.

Please check the pictures closely. Since I have partly disassembled the bass drum to check for shell and hardware anomalies (pictured), I will go ahead and clean them. I am glad to answer any questions and take more detailed pics. This is a good deal for a top of the line Gretsch bass drum that has already stood the test of time.
