Scammer alert; Jerome Arthur

"Jerome Arthur" has been banned from the DrumSellers site. If you see a message from "removed user', that's Jerome's new DrumSellers prison name. I monitor the internal email conversations between buyers and sellers. This scammer has tried to scam quite a few sellers since yesterday, including me, offering to send a cashier's check and having a "picker" and "shipper" pick up the item, etc., etc.. Don't fall for these kind of scams. Here is what this scammer wrote about his payment for a $300 drum,
"Just in case the amount on the cashier's check is $2,175. The extra money will go to the person that will come pickup the Drum & he will also be picking up a Tractor we bought too. You can deduct an extra $100 for your time and gas to go and send the shipper the extra money when you receive the check in order to facilitate pickup. Kindly reply back to acknowledge you got my message."
I like the "we will also be picking up a tractor" bit. WTF? Nice touch.
This is one of the oldest type of scams on the internet. Please contact me if you ever have the slightest doubt about a buyer. AND usually anyone offering to go around the site by asking for your email or paying you with a check, sending more money than is due, etc. should trigger your scammer detector. George
