** updates to drums and ad**
I have been working on these a bit, some new heads, 3 mufflers, diecast hoops added ,the choppers are included still. price reduced I need 1 each 13" diecast to complete. Tuned up the snare, clean and polished.
Thanks
Up for sale, here is what I know, or think I know.
Unrestored/ survivor condition
1950's Gretsch round badge , 3-ply, no paper tags, silver interior. I say early/mid 50,s. 14 "snare,13" tom,16", 22" bass drum.
I was told this kit was bought new in Pueblo, Colorado. I bought it from the son of the original owner, 15 years ago.
Condition is played/player, no original heads for clues. Swirls, some pitting, very little rust, kit has correct t's, claws, tension rods. 13 and 16 has stick choppers on top, I added diecast on the bottom rims, replacing triple flange hoops.
Bearing edges are good and kit has always had bottom heads in place.
Interiors are good, some corrosion to fasteners.
Tom, no extra holes, snare rash
on the 13. One incorrect leg, tacked badges
** Bass drum has 1 extra hole (filled and painted) drilled below the disappearing spur. This leads me to believe the spurs were added after the fact and this drum may have come with hoop mounted spurs .
*** snare drum has 4 extra holes for the mounting of a not correct throw off, that you will recognize as Radio King. .
*** I place the value on the black nitron wrap , rare 3 ply) and that the snare is still with the kit.
Gretsch hardware is included as shown if you want it.
* Shipping , I see 2-3 boxes, FED-X ground, send me a zip code. Freight is approximated. and will be adjusted if as need be.
Thanks for looking , Email with questions. I can post more pictures if you get specific.
A very cool kit.
***** My wife asked me, can you play Down In The Valley? I said yes. She said " Great , and take your lunch" . *******************
