These Yamaha KSD-245 5x14 steel shell, ten lug snare drums were sold as “student” snare drums but they are, for all practical purposes, a professional level snare drum because they have several pro level features: ten lugs, pro level throw off, and a heavy steel shell. I had one in my recording session case of ten snares that was used a lot. I got turned on to it by several Nashville session drummer friends. It’s a heavy drum. Much heavier than other brands’ similar steel drums, and those all have only eight lugs. Very stout sound. It’s in excellent condition . It could use a good cleaning of fingerprints.
