Up for sale is an very nice Vintage 1980s Sabian HH 20" Heavy Ride cymbal weighing in at 2772 grams. The hand hammering is exceptional and creates a dark and complex bell with very nice stick articulation with a dry wash sound on the bow that retains the stick tip sound. The bell has some hammering and has lots of character. This is a heavy 20" cymbal but has lots of dark washy character. This cymbal was handpicked by the cymbal's owner for being "dark and washy" at the Sabian factory right after they started producing the Sabian HH models in the 1980s. This is a very uncommon cymbal with lots of life left in it. There are no cracks, keyholing or fleabites (see photos). There is some patina in the traditional finish but overall the cymbal finish is in very good condition.
Photos were taken in the direct and indirect light to show color/finish, hammering and lathing. There are some reflections and shadows that are not in the finish.
