Up for sale is a 1980s Zildjian 18" Orchestra cymbal weighing in at a nice 1996 grams. No cracks, keyholes or fleabites on this beauty of a cymbal. There is some slight ovaling in the hole but nothing major. The factory K Zildjian stamp is upside down on top (see photos). The "Orchestra" and "K" ink stamps on top are not present but you can make out the "Orchestra" stamp in one of the photos, at the right angle. Photos were taken in direct and indirect light to show the hand hammering. This appears to be an EAK 1980s cymbal judging from the light hammering on the bell, the fine lathing, and the large K on both sides.
This cymbal has great stick articulation. The 18" diameter and weight makes for a darker crash, but the low-profile slightly-hammered bell is clear and articulate and projects very well. This cymbal is slightly heavier than the other 18" EAK Crash Rides we are selling here at DrumSellers.com. It is slightly darker, and has a pronounced bell sound, but still crashes well. The versatility is a great blend between crash and ride applications.
Online description;
" K models made when US manufacturing of K’s began in 1982, and is a solid, all-around ride choice for any gig. Standard K Rides feature a traditional randomized hammer pattern, very low curvature, and is made today with a smooth lathing for a little extra give. Its mid-range weight provides solid stick clarity, while also retaining great low crash".
